The disc has steel inner hubs, which makes it narrower and allows more kilograms to be placed on the bar. This is not the only advantage of the steel centre. The BTBR disc can be calibrated, which allows it to be adjusted to the gram. To do this, unscrew the centre of the disc and add or remove material as desired.
